Off Court

Curiosities, trainings and my Off Court daily routine! 11/6/2006

Straight from Japan!

Our first goal in the World Championship was achieved. We were able to conquer the first place in the C key, even with a few problems, such as Fofão and Fabiana’s injuries. The good part is that every girl that were in the game corresponded well and helped out the team. Step by step our team is gaining rhythm and from next Wednesday on we’ll have to get in each match with every bit of energy, since this key is going to be a lot more equalized. We’ll play against Azerbaijan, German, China, and Russia. At the end of this round, only two teams will remain to go to the semifinals. Then, it’s all or nothing…

As every game in Kobe was 2 p.m., there was no time for us to train in the morning. So, the only thing left was to stretch and watch other teams’ videos. After the matches, we would do weightlifting and sometimes even train with the ball.

This first round was important because we went through some difficulties and that helped in our maturing as a group and our development in the competition. Due to the time of the matches, the gymnasium was never full, but we could always count with a small group of Brazilian people supporting us. This is really cool!

Today we arrived in Osaka, where we be disputing the 2nd round of the World Championship. We’re confident and excited, but rational. We know it won’t be easy. There’ll be three important training days for us to set up last details. Also three days of recovery for the ones injured.

Cheer for us!
See you later!
